- Water Supply - The source of water is the Battle River, with deep well emergency. The reservoir capacity is 12,000 cubic meters. Treatment Capacity: 30,000 people.
- Waste Management - Aerated lagoons provide sewage treatment. Wainwright has provision for the disposal of chemicals. Canadian Waste Services Inc. has been contracted to provide garbage collection services. Garbage is collected weekly for residential as well as commercial/industrial users.
- Waste-To-Energy Authority - Operates a state-of-the-art incinerator to burn domestic, biomedical, and some non-hazardous industrial wastes to reduce land fill space and generate heat for use at an adjacent processing plant.
- Natural Gas Distribution - The Town of Wainwright’s gas distribution lines are owned and maintained by the Town. All profits stay within our community. The Town of Wainwright purchases gas based on the AECO-C Monthly rate. A fixed charge of $1.00/Gj is applied for operation and maintenance of the distribution system.

Budget Payment Plan - The Town of Wainwright offers a utility budget payment plan. The budget payment plan is a means of spreading utility chargesv over a twelve-month period. Your estimated annual utility charges are divided into twelve equal payments with stettlement of the account occurring on April 30th annually.
Connection & Termination - The Town of Wainwright requires 48 hours notification in order to connect or terminate utility services.
Deposits - Utilities connected in the name of the Property Owner do not require a deposit unless the account becomes delinquent.
When utilities are being transferred from Tennant to Tennant or from Landlord to Tennant the utilities will remain in the Landlords name until the new Tennant has contacted the Town Office and paid the applicable Deposit in full prior to transfer.

$1.50 per cubic metre of consumption with a minimum charge of $15.00 per month.
- Wastewater (Sewer) Rates
Flat rate of $13.50 per month per dwelling unit.
- Natural Gas Rates
Fixed Monthly Service Charge = $11.00
Natural Gas Rate = Cost bof Gas + $1.00/GJ
