The Wainwright Golf Course has benefited over the years from the enthusiasm of its membership. Their pride in the facility can be seen in the overall quality of the course, and the many improvements that have been made over the years.

The dedication of the membership is most apparent on the greens, which are always a high priority at Wainwright. Good irrigation and hard work have paid off in some of the best kept greens in the province, and golfers can expect few surprises when holing out.

Features

The course itself features level fairways bordered by thick tree growth that can cause problems for erratic hitters. Here accuracy is the key to success, and staying out of trouble should be your number one concern if you want to remain in contention for par. This condition aside, golfers will find Wainwright a very pleasurable course to play - one with a good balance of forgiving and challenging holes.

This course was originally a nine-hole facility until an additional nine holes were added in 1997. The front nine holes have narrow fairways and small greens, while the back nine has open fairways and large greens. The course is well-maintained and fun to play with the challenge of forty-two bunkers and five water hazards. The 6,145-yard men’s tee also has a ladies’ course rating of 75.9 and a slope of 133. The 5,203-yard ladies’ tee also has a men’s course rating of 65.9 and a slope of 112.

Wainwright also boasts one of the most vibrant junior golf programs in the province with over 160 members. With so many learning the game on such a challenging course, we can look forward to many excellent golfers to emerge from this club for years to come. We also offer a full service campground with shower facilities.
