Why should you join?

We have the power to change adversity into opportunity. How? By building on our strengths, by focusing on what have rather than what we lack and by setting common goals and then working together to achieve these goals, we can sustain our strong, vibrant and growing community.

It is necessary for a healthy community to have a strong, active and progressive Chamber of Commerce. To continue this tradition, we need people who will take up the leadership needed in this changing era. The unified voice of the Chamber of Commerce has proven very effective - where a single voice can go unheard.

The Chamber is the front door to this community, your marketing and resource center and is the salesmen for the community and businesses promoting products and services; and at the same time a watchdog, protecting the community’s interests. The benefit of belonging to the Chamber is full-time representation and year round results. As a Member of the Wainwright & District Chamber of Commerce, you will belong to the only organization working full-time for the interests of the Wainwright region. The Chamber is concerned about a strong economy, responsible government and a high quality of life for our community.

What is required of you as a Chamber Member?

As much as you want to contribute. There is nothing required from a Member other than to pay the Member investment. Some Members prefer to support the Chamber only with their fees and let others discuss issues and others like to be in the center of the action, so to speak. A Chamber Member can put as much or as little in to the operation of the Chamber as they choose. Both are vital to the Chamber.

The primary work of the Chamber is carried out through its committees. Members are needed and encouraged to participate. We rely heavily on our Members and their participation, but also for the valuable resources they offer and direction for the Board of Directors and in turn, for the staff.

As a new Member you are invited to join us for a free lunch with your new Membership, plus you can introduce your new business to Members present at our bi-monthly meeting.

Many of these facts about toady’s Chamber and its scope of operation may come as a surprise to some people. They remember the Chamber from yesteryear as a place to buy a map. The Wainwright & District Chamber of Commerce is an intense and proactive organization with an ever-changing menu of services and opportunities coming to its Members.

Of course, not all of our Members take full advantage of the wide range of Chamber opportunities that we offer. Whatever the level of involvement our Members choose, Membership benefits everyone.
