The Chamber is dedicated to improving Members ability to achieve success in your business or professional life.

The Chamber offers General Meetings, Business Luncheons and Business After Hours programs to help you meet your business colleagues in a relaxed, informal atmosphere and make connections - connections that mean more business for you!

General Meetings

General Meetings provide valuable business and community information from business and community leaders, while providing opportunities in which views and positions can be exchanged and an opportunity to voice your opinion on issues affecting your business.

Held throughout the year to inform Members about current business topics and legislation affecting their business.

General Meeting

It's a numbers game. The more people you meet, the more new customers or clients you're likely to have. The Chamber creates the environment for Members to network.

You are successful because of the people you know. Belonging to the Chamber is not about selling things; it's about building rapport. It's about meeting people who can help you succeed.

As you involve yourself in Chamber activities, other Members who need what you have to offer will become exposed to the value of your product or service. As Members become familiar with the value of what you have or can provide what you need everyone enhances their value to their own customers.

You may find opportunities to partner with other Members. It may be with those who have a complimentary product or service with a similar customer base. It may be a fellow Member who needs what you have or can provide what you need. As Chamber Members become familiar with the value of fellow Members’ offerings, they enhance their value to their own customers by referring them.

These gatherings provide networking opportunities, business card exchanges and promote their business for Members sharing similar challenges and interests in the community.

The meetings are held the third Thursday of March, May, September and November between 12 NOON & 1:00 pm.

Business Luncheons

Chamber Members are invited to attend Business Luncheons at CFB/ASU Wainwright, an opportunity to meet & mingle with Officers and administration staff while enjoying an excellent meal at the Officer’s Mess.

The intent of these luncheons is to develop and foster working and social relations with local business personnel and municipal leaders.

These gatherings are held the first Wednesday of February, March, April, May, June, October, November & December, at a cost of only $10.00/plate, a fantastic bargain, tickets can be purchased at the bar.

The normal format for these is to meet in the Officers Mess by 1200 hours. Guest speakers (if there is one) presents from 1215-1225 hours, with lunch commences at 1225 hours sharp.

Dress is dress of the day; presentable in appearance, jeans must be clean, hemmed, without patches or holes, neat and in good taste.

Business After Hours

Members can get to know new Members and renew acquaintances with contacts in a relaxed atmosphere.

Business After Hours

BAH’s can bring an excellent return in building awareness of your business. Your business will benefit from some free advertising and promotion with a little help from you.

The dollar investment you make for your event is minimal in comparison to the advertising and promotional support you receive. Your creativity and commitment to this event will ensure that it is a success. You can make your event as simple and memorable or as elaborate and memorable as your imagination and budget will take you. Just remember that the dollars you spend on the event is up to you.

Business After Hours is designed as a benefit for both sponsors and members. As a sponsor, you get to showcase your business and employees to Chamber Members and make new contacts. In return, members are able to visit your business, meet with you, and network with other Chamber members. Members to walk away with a direct contact of your business, potential customers and they are often folks who can send other customers in your direction.

GALA Awards

The Chamber recognizes valuable Members of our community, who contribute their time and energy to making the region a great place to live, work, do business and visit.

Our businesses and civic leaders contribute significantly to the community. It is vital that we recognize their accomplishments and contributions.

The GALA Awards held during Small Business Week, the thrrd week of October are designed to do more than recognize and applaud truly outstanding leaders within the community.

The GALA Awards are an opportunity to review the best business practices of successful entrepreneurs, and those who have made major contributions to the betterment of our community, distinguishing themselves through outstanding service, typifying the true spirit of service and self-sacrifice in representing the finest ideal of citizenship.

Small Business Week is a national celebration organized by the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) in cooperation with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. It pays tribute to the significant contribution that small business owners make to our economy and dedicated to its development.

It provides an elegant setting for networking & celebrating those who have contributed above and beyond what is expected of them to service in our community.
